Recent WWS/WoL link (if available): http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/my6x5mjavg1zj34d/sum/healingDone/ I should point out this is currently the only full parse available on the site that I participated in, and the only reason I wasn't number one in total heals is because of an early death on a Sindragosa attempt when all the battle rezzes were still on CD. I'm not particularly competitive about being top dog on heals (who cares if there was a wipe) but I'm usually in the top 3.
How did you hear about us?Long search; I was interested in staying in the Emberstorm Battlegroup, but wanted a guild that did more weekend content and was roughly equivalent to the progression I'm accustomed to, but still isn't "Hardcore" (i.e. working 25 man content five days plus per week). Exodus meets all of those needs for me.
What aspect(s) of the game is your main focus?Having fun. Sounds simple but I've been playing WoW for six years next month (started November of '04 with a troll hunter and rolled this toon as a twink in January of '05 because NOBODY was twinking druids in vanilla content). I enjoy PVP (the server I started on was PVP and stayed there for 4 years before going to a PVE server), PVE progression raiding (as long as it isn't RAGING HARDCORE), instancing, battlegrounds, etc. I'm serious when necessary, but completely looney tunes when allowed to be so. I'm not terribly fond of questing (mindless unless there is some variability rather than HAY GO THUR AND KILL TEH MOBS AND BRING BACK THEIR LOOTZ) and reputation grinds tend to grate on my nerves (even though I currently have 43 exalted reps on this toon; very few of them were actual grinds other than Timbermaw).
Have you read and understood our guild charter? Any comments regarding it?Yes, other than being well written and well thought out, I can't think of anything else I'd want. I was especially impressed with the tag at the end of the addons section stating if help was needed installing the addons to just ask. EP/GP is a great loot distribution method and I've been comfortably using it for 3 years now. I don't get too hung up on sparkly purples anyway.
What is your interest in joining Exodus, and why do you believe you're a good candidate? As above my interest is primarily to keep gaming/raiding until Cataclysm, and I felt like I really needed a change from the Server I'm currently on (Borean Tundra). Borean Tundra is roughly 2/1 Alliance to Horde (and it's a small total population to boot), so the economy is wildly erratic, WG is almost unwinnable on Horde side (I've had 22 stacks of tenacity before; a raid group of six people for Horde against 40+ alliance; yes, it was fun to have almost 200k health in tree form), and the pug atmosphere is pretty rough (I only pug old school content and usually lead some vanilla content raids). Cairne's population is more suited to what I'm looking for, and the economy seems fairly stable from the trolling I've done on the server. I'm mostly interested in Exodus specifically because I like the guild size, the raid make up, and it looks like I can contribute a lot with my experience. I also should be totally honest and point out I lost my raid slot with Catalyst on Borean Tundra and left the guild a few days ago. The reason is because the guild started a second 25 man group because there were a lot of people sitting out on our heroic progression, so even though I was a primary raider I asked to join the second 25 man group because I thought it would help them to have a heroic geared, experienced raider with them to cushion heals and help them progress rapidly. After about a month and a half of working 25 man normals (just couldn't quite get a regular 25 man LK kill), the raid leader abruptly dissolved the 25 man group and decided he was going to do 10 man hard modes with a select few people (all of which he knew personally, and I wasn't one of them). Even though I was told I was welcome to join the Heroic raid group again, I didn't feel it was appropriate to screw over the healer that took the spot I relinquished to join the second raid group, so I left. The raid schedule (Monday through Thursday for 25 mans, 10 mans usually Friday and Sunday) was getting to be a bit imposing on my professional life as well, so it was a decision I had been mulling over for a couple of months. I don't think any of the officers would say anything bad about me, except the heroic 25 man Main Tank, Fulcrum. He'd probably trash me on purpose so I'd have to stay on Borean Tundra.
Are there any Exodus members you know who can speak on your behalf? No, but I'd love to have pie and punch....maybe a nice Sunday Brunch.
Have you been in any other guilds on Cairne?Negative
Have you ever leveled other characters to 80?Yes, a rogue and a DK, both essentially being used as gathering bots. Neither has a gearscore above 4k.
Can your system handle 25-man raiding reliably?Yes, I play on a gaming laptop with Dual Nvidia 8800M GT Video Cards with SLI. They're a bit dated but thus far they've been able to handle running WoW reliably on "Good" settings. Raiding I lower everything down intentionally to prevent freeze ups or FPS issues.
I should point out that when I'm at home I have a Rock Solid Connection usually running no higher than 80ms latency. But my occupation requires me to travel 48 weeks out of the year, so I'm usually in a hotel and subject to the vaguaries of hotel networks. I've learned over the last six years which hotel chains to avoid for gaming purposes, but there are still occasional outages or bandwidth pinching issues I run into at some of the hotels. I'll be the first one to say my connection isn't good and I'm going to be more of a liability than an asset so I should probably step aside (I then usually go and threaten to burn down the hotel unless I can reset their equipment).
What kind of raid/end game experience do you have (be specific)?Vanilla - MC Full Clear, AQ40 and 20 full clears, ZG full clear, Naxx 40 cleared up to Four Horsemen, BWL and Onyxia 60 Cleared (still have my Mickey Mouse ears from Ony and Rejuvenating Gem from BWL; farmed for months to get both so I've never been able to bring myself to disenchant them....I did however happily vendor my banana shoulders when BC came out). Exalted with all Vanilla Raiding Factions (blew up my rep with Goblin towns recently when I started working on "the Insane" until Ghostcrawler messed that up by announcing the Insane was probably going to go away or be modified in Cataclysm).
BC- All content completed except Sunwell prior to WotLK releasing (I stopped raiding for a short time when I got hardcore into Arena during S2 and S3). Exalted with all BC Factions except Netherwing (did that grind on my hunter on a high pop PVP server and just haven't ever felt like doing it again) and Aldor (exalted with Scryers).
WotlK - 12/12 Normal ICC, 11/12 Heroic ICC (Glory of the Icecrown Raider Achievement Completed with the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher Mount) Full Clear ToC 10 and 25 Normal modes, 10 man Heroic full cleared (Tribute to Mad Skill earned 10/23 in a PUG), 4/5 on 25 man heroic (believe it or not, Server First Heroic Anub kill is still open on Borean Tundra to this day). Exalted with all WotLK Factions except Frenzyheart and Oracles. I don't have a Yogg kill (I was on vacation when the guild downed Yogg and when I got back they were working on Hard Modes....then ToC came out and Ulduar went on the back burner), and only have a 10 man Algalon kill.
What is your play schedule like? Can you consistently meet our 25-man raid times?I play often and daily. I have 362 days /played time on this toon in six years, so I'm generally online piddling around with something. If you're wondering why I don't have more alts, it's because I can do anything as a druid (some I'm better at than others, and I have a PVE set for every spec and a PVP set for Feral and Resto) and I'm an achievement whore (why repeat stuff on other toons when I can grind out something new on my primary toon). Meeting the 25 man raid times should not be an issue whatsoever, but if it is, I am 100% reliable to either post a note in forums or text someone to let them know what's going on.
Any other comments?Uh....I'm old. Over 35. And I enjoy killing allies. The little hop and moan that gnomes make when they die I find especially pleasing. If there's a for the Horde group going, I'm usually in it.
