My first attempt at movie making. Notice the xp gain solo'ing at level 62 in all quest/drop greens/blues.

Ret Pally Soloing Ramps (0:56 - 21Mb)

I will say that it's a BLAST :)

You should see me fighting normal mobs (4-5 at a time)

I copied Spanq over to the PTR. Went into H MgT with another Ret pally and two shaman. Yes we four manned part of it. For sustained DPS, I wouldn't say they are OP. She was on par with a good lock or mage, partly due to useable AoE. For the run, she cranked out 1330 dps, which is definitely up from the 700 she usually gets through there. The other Ret pally did about 1000 dps. The Shaman varied quite a bit, but was around 800, the other was healing. No, we didn't really have a tank. There was an undergeared tank with us for a while, but we tended to rip aggro from him pretty quick.

4-manned the Princess with no trouble at all. 2 CC's and 2 demon fears. Ret pallies are definitely a new ball-game. But my general impression was everyone was stronger. The healing shaman had 20 points in elemental and was healing us as easily as he usually does with full points in resto. Actually, the instance kinda felt like a joke. It was more like playing an arcade game then a strategy game.

I was going to upload the combatlog, but apparently the format changed and wowwebstats won't read it.

What kind of rotation were you using?

At lower levels, I found that Consecration was the best yellow damage, so my rotation was something like:

Judgement of Light, Consecrate, Divine Storm, Crusader Strike

Jugement gives gobs of mana (20%) back each time you use it along with the nice damage. Divine Storm is a nice way to self-heal without relying on spells or procs from Judgement of Light.

I need to find a way to get into a group to try out those mechanics, but I doubt there are many low 60s on the PTR.

I wasn't doing a very good job of rotations, to be honest. Just mashing whatever wasn't on cooldown. Crusader Strike has been the bread and butter, and I imagine it still is for single target dps and mana efficiency (which wasn't a problem at all) so I always start with that, followed by Judgement. If I can get a group together (or take out the warlock's imp) with Divine Storm, then I'll do that next, but I wasn't doing it every cooldown. Consecrated only when it made sense, probably because in the past a Ret Pally would oom within 30 seconds by consecrating.

Yeah, as it stands on live, if I use Crusader Strike and Judgement on every cooldown, I'm OOM after 2 fights.

After seeing this thread, I couldn't resist but to post something from Wotlk Beta. Behold Crystality the Ret Pally!

P.S. All LvL 80 Mobs, some are Elites. I'm too lazy to record it so be happy with screenies =P

I did notice when fighting that WAY more attack numbers were showing on screen then I expected. I think a lot of them are the blood numbers that you do to yourself, but I'm used to SCTD which I have filtering those out. But I was too tired to pour through the combat log to see. I may take a look later.
